Elementary: Kindergarten-8th
Kindergarten through 8th grade meet Wednesday evening from 6:00 p. m. - 7:15 p. m. Classes begin in September and continue through April. Starting with Kindergarten, we offer the Gospel Weeklies series by Pflaum Publishing.. We offer the Be my Disciples series for 1-6th. Be my Disciples series is a comprehensive catechetical series. This innovative series leads Catholic children/youth and their families to:
- grow in their conversion to Jesus Christ
- develop the habits of discipleship
- decide each day to choose life in Christ
- live as active, committed members of the Catholic Church.
Kindergarten
This year your child will learn four prayers. We will start by learning the Sign of the Cross and the Hail Mary.
Then, we will begin to learn the Our Father and the Glory Be.
Children learn these prayers easily when they are said regularly at home. Perhaps you can work this practice of prayer into your child's daily life.
Also, encourage the whole family to pray together by saying grace before meals.
It is also important for our children to know that we can pray to God in our own words anytime to form a lasting relationship with him.
During each class we will recite the prayers we are learning during circle time. When a new prayer is introduced a copy of it will be sent home.
One effective way to teach a child prayers is to have them learn one line. (For example: Hail Mary full of Grace the Lord is with thee) and building on to what they know each day until the prayer is memorized.

First Graders are encouraged to attend 100% of their religious education class sessions to assist them in being adequately prepared for the Sacraments of Reconciliation and Eucharist in second grade.

Our second graders will continue to learn and prepare for First Reconciliation and First Eucharist.
I invite and encourage all second grade parents/ guardians to schedule an appointment with Joan Falcon the coordinator for K-6th. Call (308) 254-2828.
St. Patrick's requires that every second grader bring in a copy of their baptismal record.
