The Synod Continues
The synodal journey does not conclude when the results of our local consultations are submitted to the diocese. "Rather, the conversations that took place should be the first step in an ongoing effort to strengthen the relationship between the Church and the People of God...it is only the beginning... the goal of this synodal process is to see what the Holy Spirit is saying to the Church. Walking the synodal path brings us towards deeper communion, greater participation, and more robust missionary spirit. The Synod is an invitation for the Church at all levels to be formed in a spirit of synodality, to grow and learn as the People of God, and in so doing to become the 'pilgrim Church' it is meant to be."

Questions That Were Used at Meetings:
Question 1:
The Synodal Process invites each one of us - the People of God – to recall that we journey together. Moreover, in that journey of faith, we are called to listen to the “voice of the Holy Spirit”
• As you listen to the voice of the Holy Spirit, what have been the joys, obstacles, wounds, insights, in your journeying together with the church?
• Please share a brief story that illustrates your experiences.
Question 2:
“Listening is the first step, but it requires an open mind and heart, without prejudice.” (Preparatory Document no. 30) and “All are invited to speak with courage and parrhesia, that is, in freedom, truth and charity. (Preparatory Document no.30)
• How have you experienced the Church reaching out to those who are on the peripheries and marginalized, including cultural groups, women, the disabled, those who feel unwelcome for any reason, those who experience poverty, marginalization or social exclusion?
• What enables or hinders you from speaking up courageously, candidly, and responsibly in your parish and society?
Question 3:
“Synodality is at the service of the mission of the Church in which all members are called to participate. A Synodal church is a participatory and co-responsible Church.” (Preparatory Document no.30)
• How do we promote participation in decision-making within hierarchically structured communities?
• What hinders people from being active in your parish?
• How is authority or governance exercised in your local parish?
