History and Workings
St. Patrick’s Rummage House was started in 1965. It provides quality, useable clothing, furniture, appliances, electronics, books, toys, etc.; a way to recycle merchandise and help families provide for themselves with dignity. All merchandise is generously donated by the community and is very moderately priced.
Occasionally, excess clothing is delivered to The Orphan Grain Train. Referrals for assistance come from Head Start, Health & Human Services, DOVES, Schools, Panhandle Community Services and King’s Daughters. Thru these referrals, items are given away. Give Away’s are also offered in August for “Back to School” and “Pre-Christmas” in December.
The Rummage House Volunteer Staff sort and price donations on Monday and Wednesday 8 – 11 am and Wednesday evenings 5 – 7. Selling days are Friday and Saturday 9 am – 3 pm. It is with enthusiasm, diligence and good organization of the Rummage House Volunteer Staff that make this sharing a reality!
How Can I Be a Part of This Ministry?
