Final Weeks of Confirmation Prep, 2021
Greetings to all!
I want to update you on the final weeks of Confirmation prep.
This year, of course, has been tough for Confirmation prep. We haven’t had a chance to “gel” as a community. I hear that reflected back from teens and mentors alike.
Because our numbers for Covid are looking better, we are going to finish out our time with a more normal schedule, while still following our safety precautions. We will be working out of a brief book called “Have Faith, Sustaining the Spirit for Confirmation and Beyond.” It is a chance for teens to look at their personal faith lives and to begin to plan for life after Confirmation. It will also give us time for more interaction between teens and mentors.
Following is the schedule:
• Wed., March 17 – Mentor/Teen meeting as planned 7:30-9:00 in parish hall
• Wed., March 24 – Mentor/Teen meeting 7:30-9:00 in parish hall
• Wed. April 7 – Teens only. We will meet in the youth room in the basement of the church. Please enter through the southwest door of the church (by the garage.) 7:30-9:00
• Wed., April 14- Teens only – church youth room, 7:30-9:00
• Wed., April 21 – Practice for Confirmation- in the church, sponsors who are able to come are asked to attend. 7:30 until done.
• SUNDAY, APRIL 25 – CONFIRMATION MASS, 2:OO PM I know that prom is the night before but we are unable at this date to change the date with the Bishop. More details will follow about this Mass.
• Wed. April 28 – Final Mentor/Teen meeting, parish hall, 7:30-9:00
This does feel like a bit of a sprint at the end, but these times will be most valuable in being able to come together better as a community of faith, and in feeling less scattered.
Thank you for your patience and willingness to work through all of this. I realize this has been one more thing on top of so many in the last year that has been out of normal. I do believe with all my heart that as long as we trust the Spirit to continue to lead us that this will be a blessed and sacred time.
Please feel free to contact me if you have any other questions.
God bless you, stay safe and well,
Pat Mertz

Check out this stuff about saints, about YOU, and about living as a disciple of Jesus...
Often we choose a saint's name as our Confirmation name. So, how do we "get" saints? Watch....

Being Catholic has everything to do with every day life. AND, it isn't for wimps! Pope Francis has written a letter about how we live, choices we make, how we treat the earth, and how it all has the worst impact on those who are poorest. We CAN change things! Here is a video that is a great explanation. You're probably already doing lots of good stuff in your life.
